Flagey is a residential project by Ve Atelier in Brussels.
Regularly showcased by the studio and presented in a Home Tour devoted to its bathroom, the room does not aim for neutrality: vermilion, coral, graphic patterns and gold details give it an immediate presence, while remaining at the service of everyday use.

The project in pictures
Bathroom — two-tone chequerboard, vermilion tones and gold details.

Colour as the structure of the project
The eye is first drawn to the coloured surfaces, but the interest lies in how they are distributed. The warm tones follow the volumes, the functional areas and the storage rather than being applied uniformly everywhere.
The chequerboard floor brings a different rhythm and sets up a dialogue between the surfaces without trying to match them literally. The bathroom gains a very strong identity while keeping a clear reading of the space.
Details that avoid the catalogue look
Basin, lighting, taps, storage and shower area are treated as a whole. The result does not rely on a single spectacular colour, but on the controlled accumulation of several decisions: proportion, contrast, repetition and the way the details relate to one another.
